TAXILA: Police have arrested a man for assaulting, trashing his elderly parents besides keeping them in illegal confinement, besides snatching their pension in the New City area in the limits of Hassanabdal Police station.

Manzoor Ellahi filed an application stating that on refusal of his son Mehfooz Ellahi’s demand for transferring property in his name, he tortured him and his wife brutally and kept them in illegal confinement through dope out injections and snatched his pension.

The man accused his son of illegally transferring his house worth Rs11 million in his name.

On the elderly man’s request, the police have registered a case under the Parental Protection Ordinance and arrested the accused.

Police spokesman said that all legal requirements will be fulfilled to punish the accused.

But assaulting parents is unacceptable, he added.
