LAHORE: A man was allegedly shot dead by robbers in Ravi Road area here on Tuesday.

The incident took place when Iftikhar (50) was going back to his shop after withdrawing Rs1.5 million from a bank.

A police official said two armed motorcyclists intercepted him on the main road and snatched the money from him. He said when the citizen offered resistance, one of the suspects opened fire, injured him critically. Both attackers fled the scene along with the looted money, he added.

The injured man was taken to a local hospital where doctors pronounced him dead, the police official said, adding the police and the forensic experts reached the site and isolated the crime scene to investigate the incident.
