KARACHI: All that I have seen in Pakistan has made me convinced beyond doubt that the people of Pakistan want nothing but peace,” declared Lala Bhim Sen Sachar, Leader of the Bharati Phir Basao Committee Goodwill Mission to Pakistan, on Wednesday [June 14] in Karachi. “And,” he added, “I want that this should be made known and spread all over the sub-continent.” The occasion for his speech was an At Home by the Karachi Municipal Corporation in honour of the Mission at Gandhi Garden, where the members of the Mission were also garlanded and presented with flower bouquets by the Chairman of the Corporation.

… Continuing his speech in chaste Urdu, the Leader of the Mission emphasised the growing need of understanding between Pakistan and Bharat. He criticised war mongers and declared that the rise or fall of Bharat and Pakistan depended on each other and without the peace and prosperity of one the other could not survive. Lal Sachar paid glowing tributes to the statesmanship of the two Prime Ministers of Pakistan and Bharat and congratulated them on their success in arriving at the historic Liaquat-Nehru Pact… .
