KARACHI: The first meeting of the Imple­mentation Committee, constituted under the Banking Agreement between Pakistan and Bharat concluded in May, 1949, will be held in New Delhi on June 12 and 13, it is learnt… . The meeting, it is understood, has been called to review the working of the Agree­ment. The Pakistan delegation to the meeting consisting of Mr Viqar Ahmed, Deputy-Secretary, Ministry of Finance … and Mr N.M. Uqaili of the State Bank of Pakistan left for Delhi on Sunday [June 11].

Though it was provided in the Banking Agreement that the Implementation Comm­ittee should meet every month, it is the first meeting of the committee since the conclusion of the Agreement. — News agencies

[Meanwhile, according to news agencies from Lake Success, US,] Seventy-seven cou­ntries have been invited to a three-day conference which opens here tomorrow [June 11] to launch an expanded world programme of technical aid planned by the United Nat­i­o­ns and its specialised agencies. … Invita­tions were sent to all 59 members of the United Nations and to 18 non-members who belong to at least one specialised agency. Communist China will not be represented.
