LAHORE: Three youngsters allegedly died when their car plunged into the city canal near Johar Town due to speeding, late on Tuesday.

A police official says that the car was carrying three youngsters aged between 18 and 25 years when it plunged into the canal near Doctors’ Hospital, allegedly after the driver lost control because of speeding.

Quoting eyewitnesses, he said all the three car occupants were seriously injured and died instantly.

Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the scene on being informed of the incident and retrieved the bodies, along with the car, from the canal.

One of the deceased youngsters was later identified as Mustafa (18), while the other two were yet to be identified, the official added.
