TOBA TEK SINGH: Five people died in two separate road accidents here on Saturday.

In one accident, three people, including two brothers, died instantly after a speeding trailer rammed a mini truck from behind near Jaranwala interchange on M-3 Motorway.

Rescue 1122 officials said the truck caught fire when fuel leaked from its tank. They said firefighters extinguished the fire.

The deceased were identified as two brothers Zaman Ali, 48, and Farman Ali, 45, of Multan and the third was identified as trailer driver Azam, 44, of Bahawalpur.

In another accident, two women died in a head-on collision between two motorcycles on Kamalia-Chichawatni road near Kamalia Saddar police station.

As a result of the collision, six people on two motorcycles fell on the road and a truck ran over the two women pillion riders. Both women died instantly.

The deceased women were identified as Sidra Parveen, 22, and Uzma Bibi, 45.

The wounded included Bilal Arshad, 25, three-year-old Mirha, Babar Ashraf, 17, and Samiullah, 14. They were shifted to the Kamalia THQ hospital.

ARRESTED: The National Central Bureau of Interpol and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Faisalabad in a joint operation arrested a proclaimed offender in a murder case at Faisalabad airport on Saturday.

An FIA official said accused Ijaz Ahmad of Jaranwala, Faisalabad, was wanted by the Balochni police in a murder case. He said as soon as he landed at the airport, he was taken into custody.

He said during the immigration clearance process, his criminal record appeared on the Integrated Border Management System.

The official said the accused had been handed over to the Faisalabad police.

Meanwhile, FIA arrested Muhammad Ashfaq from Almasoom Town in Faisalabad in a case of fraud and human smuggling.

The accused received Rs12.1m from a citizen to send him to New Zealand on work visa, but disappeared after taking the money.

BOOKED: Chak Jhumra police in Faisalabad booked on Saturday a man for poisoning to death his wife.

Complainant Naseem Bibi of Chiniot Chak 150-JB claimed in her FIR registered under section 322 of PPC that her daughter Sana Noor, 20, was being mentally tortured with the blame of inability to conceive by her husband, Abdul Shakoor of Chak 106-JB, Khichian.

He and his brother Abdul Qaddoos and quack Muhammad Yasin of their village forcibly gave her a poisonous medicine, due to which she fell ill, and he brought her to the complainant’s home in November 2024 and fled.

She was admitted to Allied Hospital, where it was revealed that her kidneys had failed. Since then she remained under treatment in the hospital and finally died on Saturday.

Police were conducting raids to arrest the suspects.

THEFT: Thievesstruck the house of Muhammad Afzal in Faisalabad Chak 199-GB on Friday night.
