UNRELIABLE INTERNET: I have been a member of the Model Town Library since 2021. The library’s beautiful building, located in F Block, has a large collection of books and provides a comfortable environment. Many students visit the library to work on presentations and assignments as well as to browse through newspapers. They often bring their laptops along. However, the main issue is the library’s unreliable internet connection. Students struggle to access online resources, read digital newspapers, and stay connected with the world. Additionally, network problems hinder the effectiveness of internet packages. This wastes valuable time of the students. The authorities should resolve the matter on a priority basis.

SELECTIVE OUTRAGE: The ongoing humanitarian crisis in Palestine continues to be sidelined by the international community. On May 11, the Israeli army destroyed the Islamic University in Gaza in a targeted airstrike. This attack not only erased a vital centre of learning, but also underscored the systematic dismantling of Gaza’s infrastructure, leaving its people further deprived of hope and opportunity. The silence of the world’s leading human rights advocates raises questions about selective outrage and the prioritisation of geopolitical interests over justice for oppressed communities. As classrooms lie in ruins, the international community’s inaction speaks louder than its rhetoric on peace and equality.

STRESSFUL COMMUTE: The main road in Block 9 of Gulistan-i-Jauhar has been in a pathetic state for the last three years. It has uncountable potholes, even craters, that take a heavy toll on both drivers and vehicles. A daily commute through this route causes immense mental stress to the drivers along with financial loss due to vehicle damage. The department concerned should re-carpet the road on a priority basis to ensure a comfortable commute for the people.
