KARACHI, May 5: An Anti-Terrorism Appellat bench of High Court Sindh (SHC), comprising Justice Rahmat Hussain Jafferi and Justice Nadeem Azhar Siddiqui, dismissed an appeal modifying the death sentence to five year term on charge of murder, while maintaining the death sentence on charge of kidnapping for ransom.

The bench after hearing the counsel for convicted accused and AAG Sindh Habib Ahmed dismissed the appeal, maintaining the death sentence awarded on charge of kidnapping for ransom.

The bench, however, modified the death sentence on charge of murder to a five year term considering the circumstances of the case.—APP
