NO ENTRY FOR ALUMNI: The University of Balochistan has only one central library and that lacks basic faci-lities. While the library is supposed to facilitate and welcome all university students, the recent appointment of a new faculty member has created several challenges, particularly for alumni who face unnecessary restrictions on entry. The university administration must take due remedial steps and redress the issue.

DISCONNECTED AREA: The pro-longed closure of cellular networks in Noshki has severely affected the local residents. For the last few months, people have been unable to access 4G data, social media, or news channels. The general reason cited by the service providers is that there is disruption owing to security concerns. Security is a national issue, not just of a particular city or region. The authorities concerned must restore communication services in Noshki.

SHORTAGE OF BUSSES: The menace of overcrowding in university buses is a serious issue faced by the students of Punjab University in Lahore. Every day, students struggle to find space in the buses, leading to discomfort, safety risks, and delays in reaching their respective classes. Many students are forced to stand in unsafe conditions, which increases the risk of accidents and health problems. This issue affects not only students’ safety, but also their academic performance. The university administration should consider increasing the number of buses, improving scheduling, and ensuring proper monitoring of passenger capacity.

MEDICAL COLLEGE FEE: It is grossly unjust that a benchmark of Rs2.5 million has been set for annual fee in private medical colleges for a five-year course. It is just impossible to dish out such an amount for most families even if they belong to the affluent strata of society.
