Official highlights patrolling, establishment of checkpoints by police
The RPO told the delegation that more than 2500 policemen had been deployed in the district to guard vaccinators engaged in immunising children against polio.
“Along with mobilising subordinate police officials including superintendents of police, deputy superintendents of police and station house officers, special squads have been tasked with patrolling the area to maintain peace during the ongoing anti-polio drive,” he claimed.
Mr Shahid said that the continuous patrolling by policemen and establishment of checkpoints were part of the security plan to avert any untoward incident.
He said that the security measures were aimed to safeguard the activities of the United Nations’ agencies and maintain law and order in the region.
