QUETTA: Senior Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, who passed on Wednesday night after a prolonged illness, was laid to rest at Quetta’s Railway Graveyard on Thursday in the presence of thousands of mourners.

His funeral prayer was held at his madressah on Brewery Road, led by his son. The gathering was attended by thousands of people, including JUI-F leaders, party workers and supporters.

JUI-F Balochistan emir Senator Abdul Wasey, provincial ministers Asim Kurd and Zamrak Khan Achakzai, along with leaders and workers of various political parties attended the funeral.

After the funeral, Hafiz Hussain’s coffin was taken to the Railway Graveyard. Emotional scenes were witnessed as party workers and supporters broke into tears, with many trying to catch a final glimpse of the late leader before his burial.
