PESHAWAR, April 28: Senior Minister Sirajul Haq has said that the Jamaat-i-Islami will continue accountability of its MPAs and take action against its lawmakers who violated party discipline in recent Senate elections.
In a statement, Mr Siraj, who is also the provincial chief of the party, said that an inquiry committee had been constituted to identify the MPAs who had voted for candidates not supported by the JI. He said that committee had completed investigations and action would be taken against the MPAs soon.
He said that suspension of party membership of its four activists, including Asif Luqman, the son of JI chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad, had no link with the Senate election issue.
