RAWALPINDI: A police official in Rawalpindi who had been found to have abused his power was arrested on the charges of entering a house, torturing the residents and looting cash and other valuables in the Dhamial area.

Lubna Bibi, a widow, filed a complaint with the police, claiming that following her husband’s death a decade ago, she had been living in her brother-in-law’s home and working as a maid at a private school.

She said a three-marla-plot was purchased by her school management for her, while an NGO constructed a house on the said plot.

She said that her elder brother, an alleged drug addict, had been living in her house while she lived away.

He used to host others, including the arrested police official, for drug parties.

She said on March 11, 2025, at about 1:15am, Faisal Rauf, the police constable, forcibly entered her brother-in-law’s house along with his accomplices under the influence of drugs. She said that her elder brother Zubair was also accompanying the police official during the incident. Once in the house, they allegedly called her brother-in-law out of his room.

“When he came out of his room, the suspects attacked him, tore his clothes and started searching the house. They then stole gold jewellery, Rs100,000 in cash,” she alleged. She added that she had the recordings of all episodes as she had been receiving threats from the police official.

The complainant was also reportedly threatened by police that they would implicate her brother-in-law in a drug case if she did not give them money.
