Five new cart bazaars planned

LAHORE: The district administration on Wednesday announced starting five new cart bazaars in different areas of the city.

Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza and Model Carts Chairman Malik Afzal Khokhar, at a meeting, reviewed the establishment of new markets.

Assistant commissioners were directed to suggest locations in two days in Shahdara, Bedian Road and Pine Avenue.

Malik Afzal Khokhar said that greenbelts and footpaths should be effectively used for model markets.

The DC said the establishment of model markets is necessary to promote economic activities in urban centers.

The municipal officer gave a briefing on the establishment of model markets at Shadbagh, Sabzazar, Gulshan Ravi, Shadman, Kacha Jail Road.

The DC said that priority will be given to the establishment of model markets at places with economic activities.
