RAWALPINDI: Two persons were killed while another was injured during an exchange of gunfire between two groups over an issue involving children in Dheri Hassanabad on Sunday, police said.

Mohammad Qasim said in the FIR that he along with his brothers left their house for a walk, after having meal when Aryan and Moazzam were quarrelling with Sajil and Muzamil near Chungi Chowk over a previous grudge. He said that he tried to mediate between them when suddenly Aryan and Moazzam took out their pistols and shouted that they would teach them a lesson.

Further Mr Qasim added that his brother Mohammad Iqbal tried to stop Moazzam, but he fired a gunshot at his brother Iqbal who fell on the ground and after that Moazzam fired a gunshot at Muzamil which left him injured. He said that Aryan also fired at Sajil who was also critically injured. However, the attackers escaped from the scene.

He said he initially shifted his brother Iqbal to CMH; however, he died while being moved to Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), while Mohammad Nabeel shifted his two brothers Muzamil and Sajil to hospital.

He said that his brother Mohammad Iqbal, Sajil and his brother Muzamil were seriously injured. They were shifted to the hospital, but Mohammad Iqbal and Sajil could not survive.

Police officials said that Aryan and three other accused involved in the incident have been arrested.
