ISLAMABAD: Investigation officers of heinous crimes registered with the capital police have been directed to complete the probes as soon as possible and ensure the arrest of the culprits.
According to the police, SSP Operations Mohammad Shoaib Khan chaired a meeting held to discuss ongoing investigations of heinous and other crimes.
He said ongoing investigations should be concluded on merit and challans should be submitted to courts with solid evidence to ensure maximum convictions.
Furthermore, the officers were directed to intensify efforts to arrest absconders and proclaimed offenders.
He said violence and abuse against women and children are intolerable and all legal procedures should be followed to ensure exemplary punishment to those involved in such crimes.
“The protection of citizens’ lives and property is our top priority, and no negligence in this regard will be tolerated,” he added.
Meanwhile, teams of the police arrested two members of a gang involved in bike lifting and snatching.
The police also recovered stolen motorbikes, mobile phones from their possession.
According to a police spokesman, DIG Mohammad Jawad Tariq has also directed officers for an effective crackdown against those involved in criminal activities.
He said the police also apprehended 21 outlaws involved in different criminal activities, including drug peddling and possessing illegal weapons. Illegal weapons and drugs were recovered from their possession.
