ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Squash Feder­ation (PSF) is optimistic about the national team’s impressive show in the 22nd edition of the Asian Junior Squash Championship which will be held in Hong Kong from Feb 12 to 16.

The Pakistan squad left for China on Saturday night to participate in the said event. Pakistan are the defending champions in the championship which features teams from 15 countries.

The players who left for China include Anas Ali Shah, Abdullah Nawaz, Nauman Khan and Sakhiullah Khan. Irfan Asghar is accompanying the squad as manager while Fahim Gul is head coach and Fraz Mohammad coach.

“Our team comprises talented players, who did immense hard work for this championship. So we hope that our team will produce good results to defend the title [in Bangkok],” PSF secretary Amir Nawaz told Dawn on Sunday.

Pakistan won the last edition of the championship in Chennai by defeating India.
