LAHORE: Power workers staged a protest rally on Thursday against price hike, unemployment and privatisation.

The rally, held under the auspices of the All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Workers Union, was led by union secretary general Khurshid Ahmad.

Addressing the rally, union leaders demanded the government raise wages of the workers like members of the national and provincial assemblies. They also opposed a cut in pension of government employees.

The protesting workers urged the government to recruit line staff to prevent fatal and non fatal accidents of power workers.
