IF the United States does not support the Israeli government, Palestinians would likely have a chance at peace. Right? American aid and its use of veto power on international forums have always made a significant difference. We have repea-tedly requested US senators and members of Congress to stop supporting the Israeli government, and to cease providing aid that perpetuates war. However, these efforts have not yielded the desired results.
Despite investing substantial amounts in lobbying, we have not achieved what we aimed for. While American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) plays a significant role in this issue, one of the main reasons lies within our own actions.
On the one hand, we support the Palestinians’ cause and their struggles against oppression, while, on the other hand, some among us request US legisl-ators and officials to interfere in our own country’s politics. We ask them to influence leadership appointments.
