HARIPUR, Feb 5: The Works & Services Department has decided to blacklist all those contractors, who have suspended works on various development schemes in the district without any rhyme or reason.

This decision was taken at a meeting of the department, held here with the district Nazim Dr Raja Zaman in the chair,

It was also decided that the department would complete all such schemes at the cost of the contractors.

However, the Nazim said the contractors would be provided with a chance to complete their projects.

He called upon the district coordination officer to convene a meeting of the contractors and warn them of the proposed action.

The meeting reviewed progress on the development schemes being executed under the Khushhal Pakistan Programme, the Annual Development Programme and the Public Sector Development Programme, and took decisions to remove obstructions in the early completion of the schemes.

The Nazim expressed concern over the non-operationalization of the already installed tubewells and other schemes, which stand in need of electricity supply, and directed the officials concerned to resolve the problems.
