SHIKARPUR, April 21: Activists of the Jamaat-i-Islami and Islami Jamiat-e-Tulba staged a demonstration at the Lakhi Gate Tower Chowk here on Friday to protest against the killing of Sami Akmal, a student of the Government Commerce College in Karachi, by some terrorists.

Speaking on the occasion, JI and IJT leaders Maulvi Sadaruddin Mahar, Imam Bux Asim Memon, Maulana Abdul Latif Bijarani, Maulana Abdul Fatah, Waseem Ahmed Shaikh and Aqeel Ahmed Shaikh condemned the killing of Sami Akmal and termed it an act of terrorism against students and religious leaders. They blamed activists of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement for the murder.

The protesters urged of the government to arrests the culprits involved in the killing of the student. JI and IJT leaders said that the Sindh government has failed to provide protection to life, honour and property of the people under the domination of the MQM.
