HYDERABAD, April 21: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil has said that work on a modern sewerage system in Qasimabad will start next week.

He was speaking at an a ceremony held to mark the inauguration of a road from the Kotri Barrage to Hussainabad and Masjid-i-Noor road to Wahdat Colony.

EDO (works and services) Haleem Ghori, DDO (roads) Talmeez Qazi and Hussainabad UC-I nazim Pervez Ranjha and elected representatives of the area were present on the occasion.

He said that under the local body’s system, development schemes at a cost of Rs210 million had been started in Qasimabad.

He said that by the end of current calendar year, every house in Qasimabad and its rural areas as well as Hyderabad would be supplied with drinking water and each and every area of the city would be linked with a comprehensive system of roads and sewerage.

He said that the entire city was like a human body and all parts of the body would receive full attention of the district government.

He said that the priority was being given in development schemes to the Qasimabad taluka and other areas which had been neglected in the past.

Kanwar Naveed Jamil said that after the completion of ongoing schemes by the end of May 2006, new schemes would be started.

He said that in the entire city, Qasimabad was an ideal place for constructing a five-star hotel.

He said the most urgent and chronic problem faced by the people of Qasimabad was sewerage system which had totally collapsed.

COPY CASES: The controller of examination, University of Sindh, has directed all the candidates accused of copying/ impersonating in BA (pass) part-I annual examination of 2005, to appear before the discipline committee on April 26-27 at 9am in the Far East and Southeast Asia Study Centre of the university.

EXAMINATION: The first semester examination of regular and improver candidates of the Sindh University for session 2006 will be conducted from May 8.

This was decided at a high-level meeting of all heads of the institutes and departments of the university.

The meeting, presided over by Vice-chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, decided that examination forms would be issued from April 20, while the last date for their submission would be April 29. The meeting approved and fixed the date for processing of forms and issuance of admit cards from May 2 to 6.

It also decided to hold special examination for failure candidates as the last chance and for those who wish to improve their results.

However, the meeting made it clear that the university would not conduct any special examination in future.
