KARACHI: Fumigation campaign

KARACHI, April 21: The city government on Friday announced the launching of fumigation drive in all towns of the metropolis from April 22. Fumigation and vector control wing of the city government’s health department on the directives of City Nazim Mustafa Kamal have chalked out a programme to conduct germicide spray at open sewer drains and breeding points of mosquitoes and flies, said a city government announcement.

The town-wise schedule of the germicide spray is: Lyari (April 22), Site (April 24), Baldia (April 25), Orangi (April 26), Jamshed (April 27), Keamari (April 28), North Nazimabad (April 29), Liaquatabad (May 2), Gulberg (May 3), New Karachi (May 4), Saddar (May 5), Malir (May 6), Landhi (May 8), Korangi (May 9), Bin Qasim (May 10) and Gadap (May 11).

In the Gulshan and Shah Faisal towns, fumigation spray was already conducted on April 20 and 21, respectively.—PPI
