ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday sought a detailed report regarding construction of modern hotels in Islamabad from Capital Development Authority.
Chairing a meeting on CDA Affairs, the prime minister directed the civic body to provide him the report in the next meeting. The prime minister said the report should cover construction of hotels through public-private partnership and joint ventures.
The prime minister said that with the provision of modern facilities, country’s tourism sector could be promoted.
During the meeting, the prime minster was told that pre-feasibility study for revival of precocious non-operational buildings in Islamabad and for construction of new hotels had been carried out. PM Sharif said that there is a need to bring improvement in Islamabad’s hotels, health and other facilities for hosting international events. PM also directed the civic body to provide the best facilities to residents of Islamabad.
Meanwhile, PM appreciated performance of CDA for successfully organising the recent international conferences and other events in federal capital.
He said that holding a number of conferences in Islamabad was the certificate of successes on diplomatic front. PM said that confidence of friendly countries had been restored due to continued efforts of his government.
Besides others, the meeting was attended by Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Cheema, CDA ChairmanMohammad Ali Randhawa, members CDA Talat Mehmood and Nauman Khalid.
