LAHORE: Three robbers shot the manager of a private company dead on Sunday after looting Rs900,000 cash in Raiwind area, while one of them was allegedly killed in the firing by his own accomplices during the robbery.

A police official said that the manager, Nadeem, had come from Bahawalnagar to collect the money in Raiwind area. As he was on his way back after collecting the amount, he was intercepted by three armed robbers on the main road.

He said one of the suspects opened fire when Nadeem offered resistance. The manger, who suffered multiple bullet injuries, died on the way to hospital, the police official said.

He added that during the firing a suspect, later identified as Intizar, was also hit by a bullet allegedly fired by his own accomplices and died instantly.

One of the suspects also shot dead in ‘accomplices firing’

He said the two remaining robbers fled the scene, along with the looted money when they noticed that people started gathering on the spot.

On being informed of the incident, a police team rushed to the spot and cordoned off the crime scene.

The official said that patrolling has been increased in the area to round up the two robbers.

He said a special police team investigating the matter was collecting the data from the Punjab Safe Cities Authority cameras to trace the culprits.

The private company and the relatives of the deceased manager have been informed about the incident, he said, adding that the bodies have been shifted to the city morgue.
