RAWALPINDI, April 15: The former prime minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry on Saturday warned of resigning from Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), and gave four-day deadline to party chairperson Benazir Bhutto to contact him.
Speaking at PPP workers convention here at Rawalpindi Press Club, the barrister said that he would announce his future course on April 20.
“If Benazir fails to contact me before the deadline, I am free to form patriot group or join Muslim Conference or any other party,” he declared. Mr Chaudhry who is also leader of the opposition in the Legislative Assembly said that he had sent apology to the PPP chairperson but no response was received from her.
He claimed that he was enjoying support of 12 members of legislative assembly (MLAs) adding that he was the most favoured candidate for the slot of AJK prime minister.
