BAJAUR: A joint team of local police and administration arrested seven people involved in the illegal excavation of sand, gravel, and other construction materials in the district.

According to a press statement, the arrests were made here the other day near a bridge on the Bandagi River in Utmankhel tehsil during an operation. It said that the crackdown was carried out in response to reports that a group of suppliers had been illegally excavating sand, stones, gravel, and other materials used in building construction from Bandagi and other rivers in the district.

Upon confirming the reports, a team of officials conducted a raid and caught seven people red-handed while excavating sand, gravel, and stones along the bridge site and other areas near the river.
