QUETTA, April 5: The Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) chief, Nawab Akbar Bugti, has said that without international guarantees the issue of Balochistan cannot be resolved as the Balochs have no trust in rulers. Talking to newsmen here on Wednesday night on satellite phone, he said that with the increase in atrocities against the Baloch people the resistance was gaining momentum.
Replying to a question about negotiations, the veteran leader said that when someone would show interest in negotiations he would see at what level the talks should be held and to what extent these could be meaningful.
“ For the time being there is no such situation,” Nawab Bugti said, heading that he had no trust in rulers and in this situation without international mediation and guarantees these negotiations could not be held.
The JWP chief said that European and other countries were taking notice of the atrocities committed by the government against the Baloch people as the world had now become very small and nothing could be concealed.
Answering another question, he said he had never talked about breaking Pakistan.
Nawab Bugti alleged that security forces had burnt down dozens of houses in Habib Rahi area, some 15km of Dera Bugti township and arrested 20 tribesmen who had not moved to any other place from their village.
