LARKANA: A 17-year-old youth, Mohammed Yameen Junejo, was found dead in mysterious circumstances on Friday.

The bereaved family, who lived in Walidad Gabbar village falling within the jurisdiction of the Lashari police station, said that Yameen was fully fit and healthy.

His uncle, Ali Gul Junejo, told the media in the Ratodero Taluka Headquarters Hospital that his nephew had returned home from his workplace in the evening as per his daily routine and went outside for some time. However, he added, when Yameen did not come back after several hours, a search for him was mounted.

“A neighbour told us that Yameen was seen lying at a house seemingly with some illness within the neighbourhood. We went to the specified house and picked him. We took him to a private hospital for a check-up but doctors pronounced him dead,” said Ali Gul.

The bereaved family suspected that Yameen might have been given drugs or poison.

The SHO of the Lashari police station said that the bereaved family had not yet lodged a case but an investigation into the matter had been undertaken. He said one suspect was picked up for interrogation.

Mugging

A girl waiting for her brother beside his motorcycle near the city’s general post office was deprived of her mobile phone and some cash amount by muggers, who also took away the two-wheeler on Friday.

Her brother, Saddam Mugheri, told police that his sister was waiting for him while he was dropping an online form at a shop. He said armed muggers took away his motorcycle after snatching her mobile phone and a small amount of money she possessed.
