Killer gets death

GUJRANWALA, Feb 4: An additional district and sessions judge awarded death sentence with a fine of Rs100,000 to one Ashfaq in a murder case here on Monday.

The court acquitted two co-accused, Abdul Qadir and Abdul Qayyum, giving them the benefit of the doubt.

According to the prosecution, the convict had killed one Asifur Rehman over a petty issue on March 21, 2001, in Baghbanpura.

STUDENT DIES: A fifth class student lost his life when he fell from the roof of his house in Fatumand here on Monday.

Raza Ahmad was flying a kite when he slipped and fell down in the compound of his house. He died while being taken to hospital.
