KARACHI, March 28: Two ships to load and offload rice and edible oil were berthed at MPT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday. Meanwhile, three more ships to load containers, rice and unload chemicals also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood the 67 per cent as six ships were engaged in loading and unloading containers, rice, edible oil, fertilizer and coke.

A cargo volume of 33,106 tons comprising 24,261 tons of import and 8,845 tons of export cargo was handled.

Sailing was active as Maersk Itea and Dymphna left the port while Samho Cygnus was due to depart.

Three ships, Nedlloyd Muscat, Banglar Mookh and Anette Kosan, were expected to take berths at QICT, MPT and EVT on Tuesday.
