KARACHI, Feb 4: The Karachiites will mark the ‘Youm-i- Yekjehti-i-Kashmir’ on Tuesday to express solidarity with their Kashmiri brethren who are struggling for their right of self-determination.

A number of organizations have chalked out programmes to observe the day in a befitting manner.

The Kashmiris living in the metropolis are also planning to mark the event in a historic manner.

Sardar Maqsood-ur-Zaman, chief organizor of the All-Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference (Sindh and Balochistan), said a meeting of the Kashmiri organizations had decided to hold a grand representative meeting in Karachi on Feb 5 at Zaman Point, Akhtar Colony, to express complete solidarity with the Kashmiris.

The Directorate of Social Welfare and Women development, Government of Sindh, will organise a seminar on “Kashmir Solidarity Day” at the Hindu Gymkhana at 2 pm.

The President of All-Pakistan Women Association (APWA), Begum Tazeen Faridi, will be the chief guest.

The Jamat-i-Islami Karachi will organise a big rally on Kashmir Day on Tuesday. The rally will held at Idara-e-Noor Haq at 3.30 pm.

The Pakistan Awami Tehrik (Women’s Wing) will hold a seminar at 11 am in Malir to express solidarity with the Kashmiris.

The Anjuman Naujawanan-i-Islam Pakistan, Karachi City, will hold a rally to express solidarity with the Kashmiris. The rally will be taken out after Zuhar prayers from Shuhda Masjid Liaquatabad and will conclude at the Mazar of Quaid-i-Azam.

Students and teachers of the schools and colleges in the metropolis will take active part in the observance of the Kashmir Solidarity Day on Tuesday.

Students and teachers of Keamari, Lyari, Saddar and Jamshed towns have been directed to report at 9am on Tuesday at the Baradari, Old Polo Ground where Federal Minister Dr. Mahmood Ahmed Ghazi, Nazim Naimatullah Khan, Naib Nazim Tariq Hassan and Prof. Hasnain Kazmi, will speak in connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day.

The school students of other towns have been asked to take a round along their respective schools along with their teachers and raise slogans in support of the Kashmiri brethren.

GOVERNOR: Sindh Governor Mohammadmian Soomro in his message on Kashmir Day, has said independence is the birth-right of every individual and the nation as well, and no one can deny it.

The Kashmiris, like other nations, have every right to choose their fate and live according to their wishes and as per UN Security Council’s resolutions.—APP/PPI
