TOBA TEK SINGH: Eight people were injured when the roofs of a factory and a house collapsed in Faisalabad on Saturday.

According to Rescue 1122, the incident occurred at a tissue paper manufacturing factory on Narwala Road, Marzipura, near Haji Camp.

The roof of a hall in the factory fell during construction work. Rescue teams removed the debris and rescued six factory workers, including five women and a man.

The injured were identified as Muhammad Ashraf (70), Noor Fatima (17), Sumera Bibi (27), Sadia Perveen (20), Hira Bibi (29) and Ayesha Rizwan (40). They were taken to Allied Hospital and Ghulam Muhammadabad General Hospital.

In another incident in Chak 239-RB Haral on Makkuana Road, the roof of a mud house at a brick kiln collapsed, injuring kiln worker Munir Maseeh and his eight-year-old nephew, Yashwa Masih. They were shifted to DHQ Hospital for treatment.

FLOUR PRICES: Flour prices in Faisalabad have decreased starting Saturday.

DC Abdullah Nayyar Sheikh announced that the price of a 20kg bag of flour, previously Rs1,640, will now be Rs1,610. Similarly, the 10kg bag will be sold at Rs805.

LAND RECOVERED: Forest, revenue and police departments reclaimed 27 acres of state land valued at over Rs1 billion in Jaranwala, Chak 534 GB.

An official said the land had been occupied by grabbers for approximately 30 years.

The operation was led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Coordination Musawar Ahmad Khan Niazi, Divisional Forest Officer Ansar Rasool and Assistant Commissioner General Dr Abid Mumtaz.
