LAKKI MARWAT: Three persons including two brothers were killed over a petty dispute in Parada Kallay area here late Wednesday night.

Police said the triple murder occurred in the limits of Shaheed Asmatullah Khan Khattak police station of Serai Naurang town.They said the assailants escaped after the incident.

Complainant Mohammad Zubair Khan told the police in his preliminary report that he, his brothers Ismail, 31, and Munib, 19, and a cousin Fahimullah, 17, were sitting at a grocery shop in the village when armed rivals including Asghar, Israr, Nisar

and Basit came there and opened fire on them.

He said he miraculously escaped the attack while his brothers and a cousin were seriously injured.

He said his brother Ismail and cousin Fahim succumbed to injuries on the spot while his other brother died on the way to hospital.

Police said the bodies were handed over to relatives after postmortem at the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.

They added that an investigation was launched into the incident after registration of a case against the killers under relevant sections of law.

Meanwhile, the police arrested a murder suspect during a raid in Kheraki Mamakhel area of Bannu on Thursday.

A police official said the suspect, Nasir, had escaped after murdering Bakhtullah with a pistol late on Wednesday night. He said the deceased had refused to give his Iphone mobile set to the killer.

“Following the directives of district police officer Ziauddin Ahmed, the police swung into action, raided a hideout and captured the suspect,” he maintained.

The official said the cops recovered a pistol used in the murder from his possession and shifted him to the police station.

“Later the arrested man was handed over to the investigation wing to complete the investigation of the case,” he added.

Separately, police arrested a suspect in Malang adda area of Lakki Marwat district and seized 540 gramme hashish, an AK-47 assault rifle and bullets from him.

The arrested man identified as Khushdil was shifted to the Serai Gambila police station where a case was registered against him under relevant sections of law.
