MANSEHRA: The police on Thursday launched a crackdown on electricity theft in Lower Kohistan district.

“Nobody is above the law, so we will take all power thieves to justice,” district police officer Mohammad Umar told a meeting in his office.

The meeting was attended by deputy superintendents of police and officials of Peshawar Electric Supply Company in the district headquarters Pattan.

The DPO said he had learned from Pesco about the high incidence of power theft in Lower Kohistan.

“We have to eliminate power theft from our district and won’t tolerate any negligence in this regard,” he said.

Mr Umar said special teams comprising Pesco and police officials would be formed to act against power thieves.
