SHANGLA: Three people, including a minor girl, were killed and eight injured in separate road accidents here on Thursday.
Spokesman for Rescue 1122 Rasool Khan Sharif told Dawn that a car skidded off the road to fall into a ravine after the driver lost its control in Tangir area on the way from Besham to Swat.
He said the driver and two other people travelling in the car were killed and another was critically injured.
The spokesman said the bodies and the injured were shifted to the tehsil headquarters hospital but the injured was referred to the Ayub Medical Complex, Abbottabad, due to critical condition.
He identified the deceased as Abid Hussain and Shakeel Ahmad and the injured as Kashif Hussain, a resident of Skardu in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The bodies were dispatched to Skardu after the doctors fulfilled medico-legal formalities.
Also, a pickup vehicle fell into a ravine in Hashamkhel Dab area of Martung tehsil on Thursday, killing a boy and injuring seven other commuters.
The accident occurred when the vehicle was coming in from Thakot area of Battagram district with passengers and goods.
Local doctor Ibadullah Khan told Dawn that the locals shifted the injured to a rural health centre in Kamach but an injured boy, Rahatullah, died on the way.
He said the injured were shifted to the Saidu Teaching Hospital in Swat with the condition of some being critical.
