RAWALPINDI: A young woman was swept away in a nullah in Bahria Town Phase VI while going to her office on a scooty on Thursday.
Humaira, 20, a resident of Ghori Town, was on way to her office when she slipped into the nullah during rain at 6:15am.
The woman’s body was recovered by Rescue 1122 staff after eight hours and handed over to her family.
Meanwhile, in Murree, an employee of the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company also drowned in a nullah. Two employees of the company, Mohammad Sajjad, 33, and Sultan Deen, 48, were cleaning a nullah near the old police chowki when the incident occurred.
Rescue staff reached the spot and retrieved the workers and shifted them to the Civil Hospital where Sultan was pronounced dead.
