KARACHI: A suspected robber was shot dead in an alleged encounter in Khokhrapar on Wednesday evening.

Police said two muggers were looting a passer-by at D-1 Area. A police patrol arrived at the scene and challenged them. In an ensuing exchange of gunfire, suspect Rashid was killed and his accomplice Sajid was arrested.

The police claimed to have recovered two pistols and snatched cell phones from their custody.

Meanwhile, an employee of a petrol pump in Scheme-33 was shot dead over some petty dispute on Wednesday evening. The Sachal police identified the victim as Zeeshan, 35.

SSP-East Dr Farrukh Raza said that two men had a quarrel with the administration of GO Petrol Pump in Ghazi Goth over some issue. Later, they resorted to indiscriminate fire and fled. The bullets hit Zeeshan who died on the spot, he added.
