KARACHI: A suspected robber was shot dead and his accomplice was arrested in wounded condition after an alleged encounter in Pak Colony on Sunday.

Keamari SSP Faizan Ali said three muggers were looting passers-by near the Gutter Baghicha area when a police patrol arrived at the scene and challenged them.

He said that the criminals started firing and after an intense exchange of gunfire, one suspect, identified as Abid Buzdar, was killed,

He said that his accomplice, Babar Buzdar, was arrested in wounded condition. However, their third accomplice managed to escape.

Two pistols and one motorcycle, which was stolen within the remit of the SITE-Superhighway Industrial Area police station, were recovered from their custody.
