LAHORE: The PTI-backed opposition Sunni Ittehad Council has requisitioned a session of the Punjab Assembly to discuss a six-point agenda.

A requisition submitted to the assembly secretariat here on Thursday said that the house would discuss the law and order situation in the province as well as ‘forced kidnapping’ of parliamentarians, growing inflation and an exorbitant increase in the electricity tariff.

Under the law, the speaker has to convene a sitting of the house within 14 days of the submission of a requisition.

At least one-fourth members of the 371-strong house have to sign the request for summoning the sitting . Published in Dawn, July 19th, 2024
