Man kills wife

OKARA, Oct 16: A man punched his wife to death over a petty issue in Manawala village on Monday.

Mashooq Ali of Mandi Ahmadabad stopped his wife from accompanying her mother and sister to their relatives in Klier Mahmood village when they visited the house. He punched her when she refused to obey his order. The woman died instantly.

GRANT: Provincial law minister Khalid Ranjha on Tuesday sanctioned a grant of Rs350,000 for the District Bar Association library.

Meanwhile, the DBA has received books worth Rs40,000.

SUICIDE: One Sakina committed suicide by setting herself on fire following a quarrel with her husband in Shafiq Nazar.

ELECTROCUTED: Anwar, 10, was electrocuted in Hujra Shah Muqeem here on Tuesday.—Correspondent
