Samiullah and Taimur shine

LAHORE, March 21: Three goals each by Raja Samiullah and Taimur Mawaz Khan enabled United Solutions beat Enzo 8-4 1/2 in the Punjab Police polo cup on Tuesday. The winners made a stormy start taking 3- 1/2 lead in the first chukker. Samiullah scored home his first goal, converting a 30-yard penalty hit to eliminate a slender half-goal handicap lead of the losers.

Amir Shahid struck a field goal before Samiullah netted his second.

United Solutions consolidated the lead 6- 1 1/2 as Samiullah, Taimur and Ali Malik fired one goal each. Umar Sadik struck first goal of Enzo.

Taimur scored his second in the third chukker which the winners led 7-2 1/2 as Kashif Jamal pumped in a goal for the losers.

In the final chukker, Enzo scored twice through Kashif and Shahzad Aziz while for the winners Taimur netted one goal.

APP adds: Multan Blacks galloped to a 5-3 victory against Bahawalpur to lift the Jahanzeb polo cup. Goal scorers from Multan Blacks were Nadir Zeb (2), Mian Azhar (1), Haidar (1) and Mohsin Ata Khosa (1).

Nauman Wasif scored two goals while Omar scored one from Bahawalpur.
