ISLAMABAD: Gunmen shot and injured a man during a robbery in the capital, police said on Monday.

The man was identified as Mohammad Rais, a resident of Kiani Town.

According to the police, three armed suspects on a motorcycle intercepted Rais in Kiani Town Phase 5 and held him at gunpoint. They then asked him to hand over the cash and valuables.

When the gunmen were searching him, Rais pushed one of them and tried to run away but the culprits opened fire at him as a result of which he was hit by two bullets. The robbers escaped from the spot.
