KARACHI: The Governor of Sind, Mr Din Mohammad, urged upon the Sind Government employees yesterday [June 23] to maintain a rigid standard of honesty, to avoid favouritism, to be polite prompt and punctual, and to be always prepared to defend the state as true mujahids.

“There is some matter on which I wish to lay special stress,” said the Governor, “and that is the treatment to be meted out to those unfortunate millions, known as Muhajireen, who were forced to quit their own comfortable homes on the point of [a] bayonet and who, after sacrificing their all for the sake of Islam, sought shelter with us because of religious affinity.” …

Speaking further on the subject of refugees, Mr Din Mohammad said: “The heart of the bulk of [the] population is sound, but unfortunately, a small fraction of Sindhis feel that the Muhajireen are mere poachers and should, therefore, be treated as such. This is an entirely wrong approach … and the sooner it is rectified, the better. []It ill-behoves true Muslims to think in these terms, and it is unpatriotic for one section of Pakistanis to treat another section as aliens.”
