KARACHI: A Press communique issued by the Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs says: With reference to the allegations of the Royal Afghan Government that a Pakistan reconnaissance aircraft flew over Afghan territory on June 12, and when fired upon returned the fire while flying over Afghan territory and occasioned casualties, the Pakistan Government have informed the Royal Afghan Government that if the latter do not accept the facts ascertained ... by the Pakistan Government that the aircraft was fired upon and was thus compelled to return the fire while flying within Pakistan territory, the ... two Governments should jointly carry out a local investigation on both sides of the border... .
[Meanwhile, according to news agencies,] Pakistan and India are understood to have come to an arrangement providing for the landing and refuelling in and crossing of their respective territories by non-regular aircraft of either Dominion on a reciprocal basis. This agreement ... will mainly benefit Indian Government planes arriving from abroad and Pakistani Government aircraft flying to or from either of the two wings of Pakistan.
