LAHORE: A Dolphin Squad personnel who was injured in the firing of robbers succumbed to injuries at a local hospital on Saturday.
Two Dolphin personnel were injured in the Hayer police area when the robbers opened fire at them late on Friday night. Both the personnel, Muhammad Adnan and Zafar, were shifted to hospital where the former succumbed to injuries on Saturday evening while the latter was also said to be in critical condition.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Usman Anwar paid tributes to the sacrifice of the martyred officer. He said Adnan sacrificed his life while protecting the lives and properties of the citizens. He emphasized that the brave officers of Punjab Police would not hesitate to make more sacrifices for the safety of citizens.
The IGP also assured that the family of the martyr, Adnan, would not be left alone and they would be provided with the best possible welfare.
Dr Anwar directed the DIG Operations Lahore to immediately arrest culprits involved in the shooting. He issued directions for provision of the best medical facilities for the other injured officer, Zafar.
