PESHAWAR: A library was inaugurated in remote Laspur village of Upper Chitral district on Friday.

Addressing a large number of local elders and youth on the occasion, library caretaker Noorul Huda Yaftali said that Baba-i-Laspur Memorial Library would benefit hundreds of students and youth of the local area.

He said the library had been stocked with books to cater the needs of general readers as well school and college students. In addition to this, he said, the library would provide with academic material to assist the students with the country’s top universities’ admission tests.

He said the library was aimed at strengthening book reading habits among local youth, and it would provide the remote area’s students with necessary resources in their studies. He said there were no libraries in Upper Chitral from where they could borrow books to read.

Mr Yaftali said that this library would help spread the concept of community libraries in remote areas and they would also try to introduce modern digital gadgets at the library in future to assist the students.
