PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has established a ‘drug control room’ at the chief minister’s secretariat, says a notification issued here on Thursday.

The government also notified deputy secretary Dr Adil Ayub as the drug control room’s focal person. Dr Ayub would coordinate all the strategic and tactical progress with all the stakeholders and compile and submit a concise and comprehensive monthly report to the chief minister, the notification said.

Earlier, a statement issued by the chief minister’s secretariat said that approval for the drug control room was given by the chief minister while chairing a meeting. The meeting approved an action plan for drug-free Peshawar, which would be expanded to other districts of the province in the future.
