LAHORE: Police are facing severe criticism for failure in controlling frequent accidents taking place due to reckless driving, particularly in the posh area of the DHA.

Man kills stepson: A man brutally murdered his three-year-old stepson in Sabzazar area here on Tuesday.

The police inquiries suggested that the minor boy, Harishman, suffered multiple skull fractures when suspect Khabibur Rehman allegedly tortured him in the presence of his mother who later told the police that her husband used to beat him over petty issues.

A police official said the body of the minor boy was bearing multiple deep wounds and the skull fracture he suffered on Tuesday led to his death in the hospital where he was shifted in a critical condition.

Quoting the mother of the deceased boy, he said she had contracted second marriage with Khabibur Rehman. She had two minor children from her first husband.

She told the police that Khabib didn’t like her two children and used to torture them over petty domestic issues.

She added that her second husband was so sick that he used to bite the boy on his face, arms and other parts of the body.

The official said the police arrested the suspect and lodged a murder case against him after sending body of the kid to the city morgue for autopsy.
