SHIKARPUR, March 18: Three people were killed in two separate incidents of firing in the district on Friday night. Two people, identified as Khuda Bux Ghunjio and Din Mohammad Ghunjio, were shot dead by two unidentified armed men when they were sitting at their decoration shop in Allahabad colony.
The assailants were in police uniform and drove away on their motorcycle.
The motive behind the double murder was said to be an old enmity.
The Stuart Ganj police registered a case against two unidentified accused on the complaint of Usman Ghunjio, brother of deceased Din Mohammad.
In another incident, a man was killed by highwaymen near Lahori Wah on the Khanpur-Kandhkot road.
The deceased was on his way with his family in a car from Shikarpur to his village.
The armed men cautioned him to stop the car when he did not stop, they opened fire.
As a result, Huzoor Bux Bunglani was injured and taken to the civil hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The Naparkot police registered a case against four unidentified outlaws on the complaint of brother of the deceased.
Relatives of the deceased took out a procession and staged a demonstration on the Khanpur-Kandhkot road while keeping the body on the road.
The protesters demanded that the culprits should immediately be arrested.
